GIVE BACK WITH A CHRISTMAS TABLE AT BISTROT PIERRE IN TORBAY

BISTROT PIERRE IN TORBAY

Some of Torquay's most vulnerable residents will enjoy a Christmas treat thanks to a seasonal gift from Bistrot Pierre. The popular high street restaurant that's French-inspired and located in a prime position on the seafront in Abbey Crescent, is joining forces with Age UK Plymouth to donate festive meals to those in need this winter.

As part of the restaurant's Pay It Forward campaign, diners enjoying a Christmas party of eight or more with friends and family will contribute towards a free three-course meal for a resident in their community, who will be nominated by the Leicester branch of Age UK.

Bistrot Pierre’s CEO Nick White said: “As we celebrate our 30th birthday this year, community continues to be at the heart of what we do and we are delighted to be opening our doors to welcome those most in need. Our loyal customers can make a difference in the lives of vulnerable residents in Plymouth by booking a table for eight or more people on Sundays during December. We are now taking bookings, so why not come and have some festive fun with us safe in the knowledge that it will be giving residents a chance to enjoy their own party?"

Nick adds, "We're hugely grateful for the fantastic work which continues to be done by Age UK each year and in teaming up with them, we hope everyone can have a very happy and healthy Christmas this year."

Age UK Torbay prides itself on being a local charity with a national name. Working independently, the charity and its volunteers are consistently out in the community, helping older people live happier, active, fulfilled lives across the city, county and further afield. Helen Harman, of Age UK Torbay, added: "The cost-of-living crisis is continuing to have a huge impact on the financial situation of many older people and for them, eating out is now seen as a luxury. "We're delighted that Bistrot Pierre has extended their generosity this year and partnered with Age UK Torbay to provide an opportunity for vulnerable older people in the community to enjoy a delicious warm meal for free."

Helen adds, "This collaboration will benefit some of our most lonely and isolated older people who will be over the moon to have a meal out so that they can make friends, and enjoy a lovely time."
