LYMPSTONE MANOR IN DEVON RECEIVES SUITE OF AWARDS

Devon's Lympstone Manor has announced award wins following the first Michelin Hotel Awards and the AA Hospitality Awards. Lympstone Manor retained 5 AA Rosettes at this year's AA Hospitality Awards. Honoured for their culinary excellence, the award places Lympstone Manor amongst just 19 other restaurants in the UK to hold 5 AA Rosettes. The hotel was also acknowledged in the AA Notable Wine List, making it one of only 298 establishments awarded the AA Notable Wine List Award. Following from the first inaugural awards ceremony on October 1st; Lympstone Manor was awarded Two Keys in the newly launched Michelin Hotel Awards.

The Michelin Guide announced brand new one, two and three Key distinctions, to recognise the most outstanding hotels across the UK and Ireland. The Michelin Guide has long been the benchmark guide for restaurants, with its one, two and three Michelin Star system, which is recognised and respected around the world. Lympstone Manor was first awarded one Michelin star just 6 months after opening in 2017. Just as the Michelin Star system recognises restaurants for their outstanding cooking, this newly launched Michelin Key system recognises hotels for outstanding stays.  

All hotels within the Michelin Guide were vetted by professional hotel experts and deemed to be places that significantly add to your experience as a traveller, judged under five categories: architecture and interior design; quality and consistency of service; overall personality and character; value for the price; and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting. 37 hotels, including Lympstone Manor were awarded two Keys indicating an ‘Exceptional stay’. This ranks Lympstone Manor in the top 52 hotels in the country within the Michelin Guide. 

On achieving two Keys, chef patron Michael Caines MBE commented:  “Since we opened our doors in 2017, we promised our guests “come and experience the exceptional” and to have achieved this accolade of two keys from Michelin indicating an ‘Exceptional Stay’ under the first of the Michelin Keys to be awarded for the UK, makes the team and I incredible pride. The hospitality industry is such a rewarding industry to be a part of, but of recent years has seen its most challenging landscape to operate in. Despite these challenges, we remain dedicated to our crafts and passionate; as I have always said; ‘no reason, just passion.”
