Tregenna Castle Resort continues its sustainability initiative, TREGREENER’

Tregenna Castle Resort in Cornwall

As Tregenna Castle Resort commemorates 250 years of timeless hospitality and scenic beauty, it proudly announces its latest endeavour in sustainability with a Tree Planting Celebration.

In alignment with its commitment to environmental stewardship, the resort will be planting an additional 250 trees across its sprawling 72-acre resort. This initiative, part of the Tregenna 250 anniversary celebration this year, symbolises the resort's dedication to leaving a lasting impact for generations to come.

By introducing a diverse range of tree species including English Oak, Field Maple, Hornbeam, Beech, Silver Birch, Crab Apple, Cherry and Lime, Tregenna aims to enhance the natural landscape while reaping the numerous ecological benefits that trees provide.

"Planting trees is not just about enhancing the beauty of our surroundings; it's about investing in a sustainable future," said James Parker, operations director at Tregenna Castle Resort. "As we mark this significant milestone in our history, it's essential for us to reflect on our responsibility to the environment and take proactive steps towards conservation and preservation."

Trees play a vital role in mitigating climate change, improving air quality, and fostering biodiversity. Through this tree-planting initiative, Tregenna Castle Resort aims to:

Combat Climate Change - Trees act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere and helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Improve Biodiversity - By providing habitat and food sources for various plant and animal species, trees contribute to the richness and resilience of ecosystems.

Improve Air Quality - Trees filter pollutants from the air, releasing oxygen and creating a healthier environment for guests and wildlife alike. "We invite everyone to be a part of this meaningful 250-year celebration," added James Parker "Together, let's grow a greener future and ensure that Tregenna Castle Resort remains a beacon of sustainability and natural beauty for the next 250 years and beyond."
