Sharp's Brewery pours extra-special support for Leopallooza festival

Bottles of Solar Wave by Sharp's Brewery

Rock-based Sharp's Brewery has been a strong supporter of North Cornwall's Leopallooza festival for more than six years and the team has also sponsored the other epic events that the team at The Wyldes put on in their beautiful Week Saint Mary location, near Bude.

As the Leopallooza crew has announced that this year's festival, running from the 21st until the 23rd of July will be their last in this current guise, the Sharp's team are bringing back a festival favourite for everyone heading to the fields.

The Leopallooza Festival has been a multi-award-winning, grassroots music festival that has celebrated the very best in new, up-and-coming and established bands, artists, DJs, and comedy, as well as hosting immersive theatre, family entertainment and a whole lot of surprises. Everything happens within a bespoke festival site which is nestled in a hidden, tree-filled Cornish valley, just a few miles from the sea.

Over the three July days and nights, multiple stages host over 100 great acts and festival-goers will enjoy free camping, family-friendly entertainment and fun and fairly-priced bars. Previous Leopallooza's has played host to Bastille, Kelis, Seasick Steve, Thom Yorke, Rag'n'Bone Man, Maximo Park, Crystal Fighters, Roni Size, The Cribs, and many, many more. The finale festival sees Orbital, Bloc Party and Aurora headlining the main stages with other acts such as Billy Nomates, a Hong Kong Ping Pong takeover, and The Mystery Jets lining up to entertain the Leopallooza loyalists.

For 2023, Sharp's Brewery will be bringing along its range of award-winning beer and cider, including new Hazy IPA, Solar Wave, Doom Bar, Doom Bar Zero, Offshore Pilsner, Cold River Cider and Atlantic Pale Ale. And as a special treat, Sharp's (now not so) Secret Bar will be returning to provide a unique and sensory introduction to beer and food pairing (for those aged over 18.) The Leopallooza Finale Secret Bar will provide a host of delicacies including mackerel rillettes, Char Siu pork belly and spiced pineapple all created by former South West Chef of the Year Tim Kendall, the much-acclaimed chef-owner at the Rising Sun, Altarnun and The Barley Sheaf, Gorran. These dishes will be accompanied by a range of beers from the Rock-based brewery, paired with the style and flavours in the dishes.

Sharp's Brewery's brand activation manager Nick White says, "Myself and the Sharp's team have always loved being part of the journey that the Leopallooza team has been on, both with the festival and with all the incredible shows that they have brought to the location that is now famed as The Wyldes. We love this wooded valley setting, with stages built up from the land and recycled materials, and it's so close to North Coast that has inspired so many of our beers and our cider. We've been proud to be able to do our bit as a long-term supporter and friend of the festival, and we're all cheerleading the crew into their final Leopallooza, whilst waiting to hear more as their next chapter unfolds."

Nick continues, "We're stoked to bring our Sharp's Secret Bar experience back to Leopallooza, after a special request from the Wyldes crew last week. Once again, we get to put a creative spin on tasting some of our beers that are also pouring right across this joyous event. And we're so looking forward to seeing everyone there."

Director of Leopallooza, Sam Dunnett said, "It's going to be a really special weekend, the last ever Leopallooza marks a major moment for us. We're not going anywhere though, we have big plans at The Wyldes that we'll be sharing very soon. We're delighted that Sharp's will be with us as we wave goodbye to Leopallooza. We love their bars, their beer and their amazing team. We're extra excited that they're bringing their Secret Bar back for the weekend. It's a really special addition to the festival - and we recommend hunting it down fast as we know it's going to be hard to score a place!"
