July/August 2024

This is always one of my favourite issues of the year to put together. I adore summer and everything that comes with it, from Sunday morning yoga sessions on the beach (I’m lucky enough to live within walking distance of the coast) to enjoying the long balmy evenings having drinks with friends at the many al fresco restaurants and bars near me.

For those of you putting the finishing touches to a late-summer celebration, take inspiration from our waterside wedding venues in this issue, and also from the local real-life wedding couples and team of talented regional suppliers who collaborated on our free-spirited, whimsical-themed styled shoot. There’s also all the latest wed-day news, exclusive offers, fashion, beauty and hot honeymoon ideas.

Until the next issue...

Carbis Bay Estate

A fantastic new wedding space, The Beach Promenade has opened at Carbis Bay Estate in Cornwall. It’s the ultimate beachside wedding location where couples can have their ceremony for up to 100 guests on the sand, footsteps away from a private marquee for waterside receptions on the promenade. The wedding breakfast can also be enjoyed for up to 100 loved ones with the beach providing a picturesque backdrop. Weddings on The Promenade include private use of Walter’s Cocktail Bar and Restaurant which adjoins the marquee, perfect for sipping cocktails and dancing until the early hours. As night falls, the clear marquee looks romantic lit with chandeliers. Prices start from £10,000 for mid-week weddings during low season.

Olympic haul for Padstow Distilling as it scores Gold, Silver and Bronze

Local Cornish distillers, Padstow Distilling have triumphed at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC), earning four prestigious awards - they won a Gold, Silver and two Bronze medals. Specialising in crafting spirits with ingredients farmed and foraged on the North Cornwall coast, Padstow Distilling has been gaining a reputation for its fantastic small-batch spirits. Founder David McWilliams and his team use Cornish barley grown just one mile away from the distillery to create their own base, with the process taking three weeks to ensure the highest quality of provenance for the distillery's spirits. The IWSC celebrates the finest wines and spirits globally, highlighting undiscovered talent worldwide.
